Masquerading as the science of mental health requires that certain appearances be maintained. It was German psychiatrist Emil Kraepelin who, in the 1800s, first worked on a system of codification of human behavior, while simultaneously acknowledging that psychiatry had no effective treatments or cures for psychiatric disorders.
Since Kraepelin, the number of psychiatric condemnations of human behavior has steadily expanded. Today, they are codified in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) and the International Classification of Diseases (ICD), Mental Disorders Section. First published in 1952 with a list of 112 maladies, the 1994 issue of DSM specifies more than 370 disorders.
The publications listed here provide further information on psychiatry’s diagnostic sham.
Pseudoscience - Psychiatry's False Diagnoses
Psychiatry's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) has become so widely relied upon within society that it has taken on the aura of scientific fact. Millions now use and believe in its diagnostic abilities, never once suspecting that the whole premise and the system istelf are fraudulent. These people are at risk of making seriously wrong, even fatal, turns in either their own lives, or the lives of others. This publication fills in the very large and deliberate gaps left by psychiatric propaganda about its key daim to "scientific" fame, the DSM.
Psychiatric Hoax - The Subversion of Medicine
There is a pervasiveness about the mental health thinking that appears in primary care medicine today. It is largely due to the promotion of psychiatry’s diagnostic system, the DSM. This booklet, primarily for medical doctors, includes a chapter on the harmful impact of DSM on general medicine—today, family physicians and doctors prescribe more antidepressants than psychiatrists.
Child Drugging - Psychiatry Destroying Lives
In 1975, 150,000 American children were drugged for a little known condition labeled as “hyperactivity”. In 1987, APA psychiatrists voted to include ADHD into the DSM and within one year, 500,000 children were suddenly afflicted with it. By 1997, the number of labeled kids had risen to 4.4 million, and estimates today range as high as 6 million. That’s 6 million children who have been prescribed cocaine-like drugs, and for a condition that has never been scientifically proven to exist.
Psychiatry - Hooking Your World on Drugs
Through stigmatizing labels, easy-seizure commitment laws and often brutal, depersonalizing “treatments,” thousands needlessly fall into a coercive psychiatric system that denies the most basic of human rights. This booklet shows how psychiatry’s DSM has led to the abuse of millions.
