Psych Drugs: Deadly Effects Exposed
The Citizens Commission on Human Rights launched its new documentary, Prescription for Violence: Psychiatry’s Deadly Side Effects, at the end of 2025. It started airing in all four corners of the world, and viewers shared one common reaction: shock. They were appalled to see mounting evidence linking psychiatric drugs to school shootings, stabbings, other violent acts and suicides. The documentary also exposes a level of fraud, greed and corruption within the psychiatric profession that is rarely exposed to a public kept largely uninformed.
Audiences learned the truth about the sharp rise in mass shootings, senseless violence and suicides over the last several decades—a trend that correlates with the dramatic increase in psychiatric drug prescriptions.
Often when one of these horrific events occurs, media attention goes to the weapon used. However, continually missed, completely ignored or covered up are the prescription psychiatric drugs that can drive individuals to commit senseless acts of violence. The CCHR documentary draws on an extensive catalog of high-profile acts of violence, including well-known school shootings committed by individuals who were either taking or withdrawing from psychiatric drugs.
For example, Nikolas Cruz killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida in 2018. Labeled with ADHD and other psychiatric diagnoses by multiple psychiatrists, he was prescribed various drugs, including stimulants known to cause hallucinations, aggression, abnormal thoughts, sudden outbursts, mood swings and suicidal ideation. The documentary shows that his heinous act of violence followed years of taking various harmful drugs and of receiving psychiatric treatment.
After viewing the documentary, attendee after attendee—from healthcare practitioners to business executives and volunteers—commented that psychiatry is nothing but a sordid, profit-driven con, and that those prescribing these harmful drugs know they are not helping their patients.
“What gets blamed when there is a shooting is the firearms, but it is the drugs, and people need to see this. This documentary explains it so clearly,” said one viewer from Florida who has his own radio show. “I want to invite CCHR to come on my radio show and talk about this—more people really need to know.”
An author said, “This incredible documentary depicts the disgusting way psychiatric treatment is delivered. It is all about money and greed, not about helping the person.”

The drugs themselves carry clear warnings of their harmful side effects. There are 27 drug regulatory agency warnings on psychiatric drugs regarding their potential for causing violence, aggression, hostility, mania, psychosis or homicidal ideation. Many more warnings caution doctors and patients about suicide or suicidal ideation, addiction or withdrawal, as well as agitation, restlessness and confusion. Despite so many catastrophic outcomes, the drug companies continue to market and sell these drugs to millions, rallied onward by the psychiatrists and doctors who continue to prescribe them.
