Win in Involuntary Commitment Case
In Japan, 180,000 people are subjected each year to the disingenuously labeled “medical protective hospitalization.” All it takes is one family member alerting a psychiatrist to legally seize someone, hold them for months or even years and destroy their mind with dangerous psychotropic drugs.
This was the fate of one elderly man. His son, driven by greed for his father’s money, contacted a disgraced and unlicensed psychiatrist. Soon after, four henchmen burst into the elderly man’s place of work—an elderly care facility—and bundled him into an ambulance. They drove him to a facility owned by the unlicensed psychiatrist. A three-minute “diagnosis” claimed that he suffered from dementia. Weeks of forced antipsychotic drugging caused the victim to suffer from drooling, confusion, loss of energy and an inability to walk.
Fortunately, the man’s wife’s friend had recently attended a CCHR lecture and so would not stand for this. Working with CCHR Japan, she got the man released.
CCHR helped them file a civil lawsuit and criminal complaint and widely publicized the kidnapping in the press, generating public outrage.
A court ordered the hospital to pay 3.11 million yen (nearly $20,000 USD) in damages for the involuntary hospitalization of this man with no mental illness or dementia. This sets a major precedent in Japan and can help others who have been involuntarily committed and harmed.

VETERAN NONPROFIT VOLUNTEER
“I was shocked to learn the link between these drugs and the violence. I had no idea how prevalent these drugs are to the violence. The filmmakers did such a good job at presenting this information. It was well communicated with no bias. Everyone needs to see it, particularly those people who are either on or being prescribed to go on these drugs. They are a death sentence.”
COMMUNITY MEMBER
“It’s surprising how many people are committing suicide. You hear about suicides and mass murders, but not about the psych drugs being at the root. They just say the shooters have a mental illness. The psychiatric industry gets away with financial crime. I’m a thousand percent against psych drugs.”
RADIO HOST
“I learned the effects of psychiatric medication and shootings. The most surprising information was that there are zero cures. Psychiatry is a scam.”
NURSE
“In schools, they force medication on kids. Medication does not cure, so what’s the point of having it? Psychiatry is all about money. This reinforces the idea I had before and makes it very clear how bad psychiatric drugs are. I’m going to do anything I can to help spread the word.”
SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELOR
“The fact that the psychs are still pushing meds stands out for me, and it’s just a moneymaking business. The psychs don’t care about people. This documentary reaffirmed my perception of psychiatric drugs because I studied the industry and I know what’s true and what’s not.”
CONCERNED CITIZEN
“Pharmaceutical companies don’t care about anything; they lack any consideration. I have lost several friends due to overdoses or withdrawals they couldn’t handle. I have been spreading the information about drugs and how addictive they are and will continue to do so.”
