CCHR Taiwan Brings the Truth About Psychiatry to the Heart of Kaohsiung
At the historic Wujia Longcheng Temple in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, hundreds gathered for a community event that took an eye-opening turn. Alongside the temple’s donation drive for disadvantaged groups, CCHR Taiwan brought its mobile exhibit, which reveals the hidden dangers of psychiatric labeling and drugging.
While CCHR volunteers shared educational booklets exposing the risks of psychiatric drugs, community members toured the exhibit, facing the cold, hard facts of psychiatric abuse.
A local government official said his view had changed after learning the facts. He had once believed that residents with mental health problems should be sent to a hospital. Now he realized that sending them there would not solve the problem. He also expressed concern over children being medicated.
At another mobile exhibit event in Taiwan, teachers expressed concern over how often children throughout the country are diagnosed with ADHD and quickly placed on psychiatric drugs. One junior high school teacher said she had seen many students struggle after taking such drugs and had come looking for real solutions. After reading CCHR’s information, she said it resonated with her values. She left with renewed purpose. A mother who stopped by said her child had been put on ADHD drugs and that she hadn’t been informed of the many side effects. She thanked CCHR for finally giving her the facts.

Over the past decade, CCHR Taiwan has educated more than 65,000 people through exhibits, lectures and volunteer programs. It has brought attention to cases of unlawful psychiatric hospitalization, worked with national media to expose abusive psychiatric labeling of children and built a network of trained volunteers across Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung.
By bringing the facts directly to communities, CCHR Taiwan empowers citizens to protect loved ones from psychiatric abuse.
